| March 1 | VCU Priority Filing Date for the 2012-2013 Academic Year. |
| June 18 | Begin reviewing 2012-2013 Dependency Override Requests. |
| July 2 | Students are strongly encouraged to submit all requested 2012-2013 documentation by this date in order to receive a timely financial aid award notification. |
| July 16 | Begin reviewing 2012-2013 Change of Income Requests. |
| August 3 | Priority deadline for new Federal Direct loan borrowers to complete Master Promissory Notes (MPN) and Entrance Counseling Sessions for Fall 2012. http://www.studentloans.gov |
| August 23 | Fall 2012 classes begin. |
| August 25 | First day of Federal Work-Study for 2012-2013. |
| October 1 | Last day to submit Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeals for Fall 2012. Last day to submit a Dependency Override or Change of Income Request for Fall 2012. |
| November 9 | Last day to submit verification documents needed to complete a student’s financial aid file and receive a Federal Direct Loan for the Fall 2012 semester. |
| November 26 | Last day to reinstate, increase or request a new Federal Direct Loan for the Fall 2012 semester. |
